I am so excited to be going back to my home town of Detroit for the Detroit Urban Craft Fair! Tekstila will be a vendor there and I will be selling my wares. Detroit's been the hardest hit city in these tough economic times, and I am proud of the resilience of this hardscrabble city and her inhabitants who never say die. So this event is pretty special to me.

I have become an official poster on this great blog that highlights the happenings at the Lillstreet Textile http://www.lillstreettextiles. studio. As a teacher and monitor in the department, I especially want to highlight the work of my students and those who come to the open studio hours. Ashley Beals Pace, a friend and former classmate from my Pratt days, and I are collaborating on a quilting project. Ashley's shop The November Workshop http://www.novemberworkshop.co designs, hand embroiders and sews beautiful quilts. I love her work and commissioned a quilt from her using Tekstila fabrics. I am so excited to see what she comes up with and to display the resulting piece at future shows and on this site. Please stay tuned!
